The final film in Sony Animation’s Spider-Verse trilogy has found its directors as Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson have been set to helm Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

“We have had the immense privilege of being part of Miles’ journey from the very beginning, and directing the conclusion to his story is beyond exciting,” said Persichetti and Thompson. “The creativity and care poured into every minute of this project has been truly inspiring. We have crafted what we feel is a very satisfying ending, and we can’t wait for fans to experience it – we’re bringing everything we’ve got!”

Persichetti and Thompson have been integral members of the franchise’s creative team from the onset. Persichetti previously served as part of the Oscar-winning directorial team on 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and was an executive producer on last year’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Thompson served as the production designer on Into the Spider-Verse, where he was instrumental in developing the franchise’s groundbreaking visual style.

Plot details for the final film are being kept under wraps. The film is not expected until 2026 at the earliest. (via Deadline)

Prime Video has renewed its freshman animated series Secret Level for a second season. Additional new episodes from Season 1 were released on the streamer today.

From Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio, Secret Level is an adult-animated anthology series featuring original stories set within the worlds of popular video games. Season 1 includes episodes highlighting Dungeons & Dragons, Sifu, New World, Unreal Tournament, Warhammer 40,000, Pac-Man, Crossfire, Armored Core, The Outer Worlds, Mega Man and Honor of Kings, to name a few. From the creatives behind Love, Death + Robots, each of the episodes is a celebration of games and gamers.

The title premiered on Dec 10, and within its first week, Prime Video says it became their largest new animated series debut compared to other recent releases including Sausage Party, Hazbin Hotel, Invincible and The Legend of Vox Machina. (via Deadline)

Mason Gooding will be back for more “Scream.”

Variety is reporting that the actor will reprise his role as Chad Meeks-Martin for the seventh installment of the horror franchise. Jasmin Savoy Brown, who plays Chad’s sister Mindy, has not officially signed on yet.

News of Gooding’s return comes after the film weathered production delays, creative overhauls and cast shakeups. Back in March, Gooding addressed the hiccups. “If it could make money, I guarantee, they’re making it,” he said. “It’s all about keeping up with what feels like is the best movie for the fans. ‘Scream’ doesn’t exist without the people who enjoy is as much as they do. … If people want it, they will certainly try their best to see it happen.”

“Scream 7” is slated to release in theaters on Feb. 27, 2026. Paramount Pictures will distribute the film, which Spyglass Media is producing.

X-MANHUNT, the next milestone X-Men crossover, arrives in March! DC Studios is ramping up the Superman promotion charge with a new teaser.

The James Gunn superhero reboot swoops into cinemas on July 11, 2025, and the director has released new material for the movie ahead of a trailer premiering on Thursday.

A motion poster for Superman features the tagline “Look up” and is embellished with a stirring version of John Williams’ icon theme tune for the Man of Steel.

Superman stars David Corenswet in the eponymous role, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. (via Deadline)

Marvel shared a new 1-minute look at Captain America: Brave New World this weekend and while most of the footage shown has been seen previously, we get a good look at Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres in his Falcon suit. This is the wing suit that Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) left with him in The Falcon and Winter Soldier series back in 2021. This has been expected since Torres was introduced as the character exists in the comics and does become the second Falcon, though his origins there are very different. In the comics Torres is an immigrant, kidnapped and experimented on by Karl Malus, turning him into a human/falcon hybrid, and he is rescued by Captain America. They’re some other weird stuff there including the Falcon used was partly vampiric, which transferred to Torres giving him a regeneration factor… but they’re avoiding all of that by just giving him Sam’s old wing-suit and that’s probably for the best. Captain America: Brave New World is in theaters February 14th, 2025.
